Local, businessman, son of two high school teachers, community volunteer, family and friend to multiple members of the U.S. Army, Marines, and Air Force, champion for the American Dream; each of these is an accurate description of Michael Mussack, but together they underline why Michael Mussack is the right person to represent the 25th district.
Where I come from
My parents were both high school math teachers. My mother taught in public schools while my father taught in a private school as well as a public community college. Amongst my extended family there are 10 additional teachers (both public and private school and university).
Several members of my family as well as close friends have served in the military. Included in that are 2 Marines, 3 Army, 2 Department of the Navy, and 1 Airforce Officer family members, and 3 close friends in the Army. While I have never served myself, I have been extremely close in their lives and I respect and admire everything they have done for this country.
Past experience:
I have been a Non Profit board director for 13 years as well as running several small businesses and investing in real estate at the same time. Along with my experiences in a plethora of part time jobs in my youth (including pizza delivery, shoe salesman, and day camp counselor), I have gained an appreciation and passion for the interdependence of the economy and business as well as social responsibility.
There are two very important questions that you have for me. Why am I running for congress, and why should you vote for me. I will do my best to provide you the answers to both.
Our district is made up of hard working people who strive to live the American dream, but find it increasingly difficult because our elected officials have lost sight of what is important. It is imperative that our representatives listen to us and make decisions with a focus on the needs of its citizens. I want to represent you in congress because I want to have a say in the decisions that are made for the future of my family. I refuse to sit by as decisions are made that affect me and my loved ones, while the opportunity to stand up and have a say in it exists. The same goes for you, I want to be the one you turn to when issues arise and decisions need to be made. I want to be the trusted face of our district, I want to represent US!
Now, more importantly why should you vote for me. This is my district. I plan to spend the rest of my life in this district. I care about the decisions made for this district. I will listen to you. I believe more can to be done to keep businesses in our district and our state in general. There are so many hard working people competing for the few open jobs in our area. In order to maintain a thriving economy we need the availability of good jobs. I have heard the frustration of many peers who aren’t even provided an interview because too many candidates applied for a position. It is all too common that these same people leave California in search of available jobs. It is hard for companies to stick it out in California, and even harder for new companies to start here. We need businesses to have a presence here in order to provide jobs here. This was once the most desirable place to be, and if our citizens are able to have good jobs, our weather will no longer be the only reason our district is the greatest and most sought after place to live.
Running as an Independent, I am seeking to represent California’s 25th District my life-long home which includes parts of Simi Valley, Santa Clarita, Palmdale, Lancaster, as well as other fine cities in the Ventura and Los Angeles County area.
Together we can fix the problems in Washington. I ask for your support and vote on June 3rd to serve as your representative in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Thank you,
Michael Mussack
